Introducing Phoenix Chiropractor Dr. Aaron Wiegand

Growing up in Arizona, there is no better sport to participate in than competitive swimming.  However, with swimming comes ear infections.  While other kids got tubes put in their ears and antibiotics, I received chiropractic adjustments.  Chiropractic care kept me on the starting blocks and drug-free.

Phoenix Chiropractor, Dr. Aaron Wiegand“Chiropractic has always been a part of my life,” says Dr. Wiegand.  “As the son of a chiropractor, I experienced, first hand, the benefits of living a chiropractic lifestyle.  I knew that I wanted to share that experience with others so they could discover health through chiropractic care.”

Dr. Wiegand began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Arizona where he studied inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics and received a degree in Physiology; the study of how the body works.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California.  During his four years at Palmer, Dr. Wiegand not only completed a rigorous study in human anatomy, x-ray and diagnosis; he also held lectures on the latest research in spinal biomechanics.  Upon graduation he was awarded the prestigious Philosophy Award.  He then associated with world-renowned researcher and clinician, Dr. Christopher Colloca at his practice in Ahwatukee.  He has now taken the best of all of these experiences to establish his North Phoenix practice, SpineBuilder Chiropractic.

“This is the future of chiropractic,” smiles Dr. Wiegand.  “We have taken the latest research and technology to create an experience that is unlike any other.”  He says that he wants people to regain a sense of hope in finding a solution to their health problems.  “People often accept their particular health issue as something they must live with.  I want every patient to feel empowered and in control of their own health.  It is for this reason, we explain everything we are doing in advance and love to answer questions.”  Dr. Wiegand says his office believes that informed patients make better health decisions.  “We like to over-communicate, and I think the members of our practice appreciate that.”

Dr. Wiegand enjoys a myriad of hobbies and interests.  “I enjoy golf...even though I’m not very good at all,” he laughs.  “I love, not only being outdoors, but the intricacy of how something so seemingly simple, is so extremely difficult.  Dr. Wiegand is also a snowboarder.  “I been riding Arizona Snow Bowl since before it was allowed on all of the mountains.”  Outside of sports, Dr. Wiegand also plays guitar and enjoys cooking.  “It is important if you are going to take control of your own health, that you increase the quality of what you are putting in your body.”  He says cooking allows him to eat food that not only tastes good, but is good for you as well.

“I have been receiving regular chiropractic adjustments since birth,” says Dr. Wiegand.  For the doctor, chiropractic was a part of a family tradition.  “We ate our vegetables, got plenty of exercise and received regular adjustments.”  When it comes to hitting the gym he says, “I am not naturally a gym person.  It requires considerable discipline to keep it a part of my routine.”  Dr. Wiegand explains how he keeps exercise fun and interesting.  “I enjoy attending Yoga and Pilates classes.  They are both great for working some hard-to-reach muscle groups.  They are also considerably more fun than running on treadmills or lifting weights.”  Dr. Wiegand says that health must be fun if it is going to become permanent fixture in your routine.  “People have enough chores in life.  Taking care of your body shouldn’t be one of them.”

Dr. Aaron Asks some important questions of interest to Phoenix residents - Chiropractor Phoenix Dr. Aaron Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
Can babies with colic be helped with chiropractic?
It's probably one of the times a parent feels the most helpless. But based on the research, chiropractic and colic relief appear to go hand in glove. With success rates in the mid-90% range, more and more Phoenix parents are seeing a chiropractor. If you have a baby with colic learn how chiropractic may help.
